Lol, so excited. She communicates with me alright! I was checking email this morning, and her tank is directly next to my keyboard on my desk. She came out of her hut and was "Looking" at me.... meaning, my little blind girl knew I was here. She looked expectant I guess.... so i figured "hell, lets try it...." and got her some meal worms.... she ate them all!! She was aggressive even at going for those little guys! I gave her 2 more than she needed, but she pooped twice, and she was excited. 5 tomorrow, but she got 7 today, lol. After, she dove back in her hut, came out again a few minutes later and is resting her belly in a warm spot looking happy with her self. I'm just so stoked she let ME know what she wanted! 040.JPG

That's great! I love the picture too, she is adorable! Sounds like she's got quite a personality. :)
Did you use the tongs to feed her or just put the worms in a bowl?

You can take your bowl of the food out now, haha. Interested how she sensed that you were there, don't know if her eyes work a tiny bit or she heard your clacking of the keyboard. This is great news, and she looks really cute :)

I took it out this evening, I didn't want to go back in and disturb her right after this morning. She is back out and interested this evening, acting like she is hungry, but I just don't want to over feed her. I let her smell my hands but she ran and hid when I touched her. As far as her eyesight goes- I think she is extremely myopic. I was discussing it with coworkers today, that is what we had figured out from her mannerisms. So she probably sees big blurry shapes, she only has clearish vision at about 10 mm from her eye. This is the dorky stuff discussed in the back office your local ophthalmology practice ;-)

Not bad though, there's improvement, and she's wary of her surroundings. It's normal for a new gecko to be scared of the new owner, it took mine around one month to calm down and not be afraid of me.
That's a lot of progress in such a small amount of time, good job! :)

Yeah, my small one shed today, took two hours to completely finish. Extremely fast, since my big one turns into an ugly color for like half a week, then slowly sheds.

I'm just loving that the noise isn't wierding her out too much, even now, I am at my desk talking, and typing and she sprawled out on a warm spot- OUT SIDE of her hut. This is all very good :)

Yeah, mine does that all the time. Once I open the heating pad, she'll come out within an hour and sprawl out on the heating pad outside of the hide for the rest of the day.
I'm guessing the inside traps more heat, so they might like it better outside.

Hahaha this all sounds great! As long as you keep bright lights away from her eyes they will probably heal. The eye is an amazing thing really, But this is great news. I feel neo is now only able to see the way your gecko does except much less because he uses noise, scent and Barley any eye sight. Hopefully he'll get better, BUT IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU :)

Thank you!! She is quite an eater! Quick question- do leopard geckos ever think they are full? My cresties regulate themselves, and stop with out over eating..... my pacman frog however will eat ANYTHING till he explodes..... where does a leopard gecko fall? I'm feeding her 4 to 5 crickets or meal worms every day, but she still acts like she is starving!

They're in between a pacman and a crestie, im guessing. Some will regulate, but juveniles tend to have a better appetite. 4-5 is what I do with mine, and they always want more. My adult will eat anywhere from 2-5 once a week or once a day. They have weird eating habits during this season.

Yeah I feed my full grown adults 3 Worms and Juvi's 2 a day. I never feed Waxworms unless they have gotten off of Mealworms and that habit needs to be fixed, They have lost a ton of weight and blah. I wouldnt feed more then 3 Worms because mine throws up at that point. Its gross :( Though yes she isnt starving.

If they are already eating Crickets keep them eating crickets. It keeps geckos active, Worms tend to make them lazy. Honestly it depends. Crickets need to be dusted any way with Calcium and such. Its good to mix it up though c:
