Zilla Digital Thermometers

Hi,
Does anyone here have any experience with Zilla's digital thermometer? Are they pretty accurate? I have the probe on the substrate over the UTH, and the temp usually fluctuates around 88-93, sometimes even within a few minutes. Today the temp is up to 101, which doesn't seem right at all, as I changed nothing about the cage at all.
If the temp is too hot on the warm side my gecko would probably move right? She's still hanging out in her warm hide.

Any ideas why the heat is fluctuating so much? All I use is a Zoo Med UTH.

Do you have a thermostat to control the temperatures?

No, I can't afford one of those yet.
Do temperatures normally fluctuate 10-15 degrees with a UTH? Seems weird to me.

The thermometer just went from 102, down to 92 within about three minutes while I was watching her shed. I don't get it.

You need a thermostat. Get one as soon as possible or your gecko will get burned.
