Right now I have a small 10-20 gallon uth under my gecko's 10 gallon tank, but I want to make sure it will be warm enough to keep a 20 gallon long heated before I upgrade. Thanks.

It depends on the substrate you use. The small 10-20 zoo med reptitherm may be on the small side, but it should heat to at least 90 degrees. But ideally you want something that'll cover at least 1/3 of the tank, so the medium one may work better. They're cheaper to purchase from amazon than retail stores if that helps.

What size Zoo-med UTH should we use for a 20L? The Zoo-med site says that a size medium UTH is for a 30-40 gallon tank, but I think a medium UTH (8"x12") should be ok for a 20L. Is this correct?

I currently have a small size zoo-med UTH in a 10 gallon, and I'm upgrading to a 20L. Thanks for any feedback.

I have the small 10-20 in my 20L and while it does provide the correct temps right over the pad, it does not heat enough of the tank. If I was doing it all over, I would go for the medium.

So do you also then provide a over head heat source along with your UTH?
