Hey
I am at work at would like to go straight to Home Depot to get some tiles, instead of going home to measure....

Could someone tell me the measurements of the bottom of the 10 gallon or the sizes they had the tile cut to?!

I have tried to search the forum for these figures with no luck:eek:

Thank you!

Here's the problem with the 10 gallon size: besides the fact that some of the tanks are 1/4" different in width, Home Depot no longer carries the 10"x3" and 10"x8" tiles which fit so well. The 10 gallon tank is 10"x20" but is sometimes a bit less on inside measurement. You just have to go to the tile section and piece something together that will almost fit and then fill in either with small tiles or with repti carpet. Try, for instance three 6"x6" tiles to start. Then I think there are 3"x12" tiles. Look for sheets of 2"x2" tiles which you can pull apart and put in.

Another way to go might be an 8"x12" and a 6"X6" or 8"x6" if you find one. You'll still need to fill in.

If by some chance your Home Depot has tile cutting possibilities, have it cut so your coverage is about 9 1/2"x19 1/2" and you'll avoid having tiles that don't quite fit.

Yea...I was gonna say that you need to measure the inside of the tank since there is the base part on the outside that is wider. Sorry, that probably sounds confusing...

I called like 5 home depots near me and none of them cut tile. I finally had to go to Lowes to have it cut. Good luck

Oh, and if it is still slightly too big after getting it cut...you can use sand paper to make it perfect. Thats what I had to do
