My first egg hatched a few days ago. Everthing looks good, and hes already shed and eaten.

The 2nd broke its nose out of the egg..I waited a few hrs and no progress so I waited a little longer...still nothing. I finally peeked inside and it didnt move so I peeled some of the egg back and it wasnt moving so I helped it out. It looked healthy, but it was dead. Could it have died after taking a breath of air then going back into the egg and drowning?

It has front legs, theyre just pressed against its body.

The 3rd looks thin, has a lot of yolk left but is moving around fine. Doesnt seem to be having trouble breathing of anything else.

About half of the yolk that was left fell off.

A few years ago I came down to the incubator to find that 3 babies had hatched but only 1 was alive. I also don't know why. I think some of them are just not strong enough to survive and what does them in is the stress of hatching. It's unfortunate, but maybe for the best. The one with the yolk should be OK as long as it's just yolk and not an abdominal hernia.

How long is it okay for them to drag it around? I feel like it should have already fallen off. Should I tie it off with something? Cut it off? or just leave it? Im not touching it until I get some input from somebody more knowledgable.

I would leave it in a very humid moist tub and it will shrink and fall off, I have had 2 with that and it does come off it's self.

Thanks. I figured moist humid tub was best and I just checked, it fell off when I opened the lid and he squirmed. Its looking 10x better now. I pulled out the albino and their size difference is nuts. The new one is nearly half the size and the bino was just hatched thursday the 24th.
