I received my bottle of chlorhexidine from Beanfarm today. On the label, it says "2% chlorhexidine gluconate (to be used externally on animal wounds)". Did I buy the wrong stuff? I plan to use it on disinfecting my geckos' tanks, shouldn't it be "chlorhexidine diacetate"? Are they the same thing? Can I still use it to disinfect my glass tanks?

One more question: 1 oz chlorhexidine solution per 1 gallon of water is 1: 128, right?

Thanks. A bit more info: the label says "Priority Care 1 - Chlorhexidine Solution". Anyone also got a bottle of this stuff? 1:128, my 1 gallon will last forever!

Chlorahexadine has many names, also know as nolvansan, and some others. IT is what we most commonly use in vet practices to clean external wounds on animals. And yes you do have the right stuff, there are just many names for it.
