2 Male Leopard Geckos

Hello,

I have 2 leopard geckos and after a recent wellness exam at our vet I found out both of them are males. I have housed them together for almost a year and have they have gotten along fine. They do not fight or act aggressive towards eachother from what I can tell, they even sleep in the same cave. They are housed in a 75 gallon long aquarium, with multiple caves. I have a spare 40 gallon tank that can be used to separate them if need be. The only problem I see is that Napoleon is not as good of a hunter as Socrates, he eventually gets the same amount of food but it takes him more time as his aim is a little off. The vet says they both are healthy, and doing well.

I have 2 questions:
1. Should I separate them or just leave them be?
2. The vet says there is nothing wrong with Napoleon's eyes but when hunting he misses his target a lot even if it isn't moving. Has anyone else had this happen and is it something to be concerned about?

1. I would separate them ASAP. Males will fight violently. When they decide to finally fight (IMO not if but when) their first fight could be the end of the road for one or both of them.

2. Some of my geckos have better aim than others. Unless they're hurting themselves or not eating enough due to their bad aim I wouldn't think there's necessarily anything wrong with them. They just won't make the olympic cricket hunting team. You can try pulling the back legs off the crickets to make them slower and easier to catch.

Two males may seem to get along fine, but one day you come home to a mess, so not worth the risk. I've seen pictures and you can't image the damage the can do to eachother that is if you are lucky enough that one doesn't kill the other. That tank is big enough to divide, do it.

You can always temporarily block off part of the enclosure for the one who doesn't hunt so well so he has a smaller space to hunt in. I agree that you should separate them for all the reasons stated above.

We moved Napoleon to the 40 gallon tank last night. Hopefully it will be easier for him to hunt with a little less space.
Thanks for the suggestions!
