2 questions

Ok I have two questions. I have seen 2 different answers for these same two questions. I’m getting the geckos this week and I have two things left up in the air so here they go.

1 on the humid hide hot or cold side I have seen both so what do you guys think????
Also what size container should I get for the hide I need it to be large enough for two geckos….

2 what temp should the floor be on the hot side I have seen anywhere from 88-94 to 84-88 So again what do you think.

Well if left on the cool side, it will stay wetter longer, however if put on the warm side, it will allow the water to evaporate, and actually cause humidity, which actually makes it a humid hide.

Also what size container should I get for the hide I need it to be large enough for two geckos….

Well I have one container that is about 6"x6" and two geckos can fit in that, however they are squeezed in there (if full grown), so I generally will give them a larger hide.

I think 84 is WAY to cool. I keep mine at about 90. Just stick with 90 and your gecko will be fine.

I keep the humidity hide on the warm end. Some tanks on the end some tanks I have it in the midle but I don't put it on the cool end.

I keep my temps around 90. My rack is set at 91.

I think I will put it on the warm side, from what I have seen on here they rather lay in the humid hide rather then the basic cave.

Now do I have to have both a humid hide and a regular on the warm end or can I do humid on the warm side with the cave on cool with the water bowl???

The only hide I have in my breeder cage is the moist hide. You might not even need the dry hide. But if you already have it, put it on the cool side, that way he can hide, in either the hot or the cool side, he gets to choose. .
