Hi all, I have had my Geckos for nearly 3 weeks now and they are finally exploring there surroundings, I would just like to make sure that there behaviour is normal.
they hardly left there warm hide for the 1st week, then one stayed in hide most days and the other stayed in moist hide allot, but tonight they are roaming around the tank climbing on everything and trying to scale the glass sides(which is never going to happen:D ) just making sure this is them growing confidence and exploring there surroundings and not them franticly trying to escape astho there is something they are not happy with?
They have Crickets in the tank but don’t look interested in eating them
is this the norm?

Temps are 87-90 warm side 78-81 cool side, they both look healthy and have a fresh supply of water and calcium, and also I clean them out every other day

Thanks

Jon

Great setup and your new geckos will definately enjoy exploring in there! However, I would switch the wood chips with moss or something. But that's just my choice.

Geckos like to come out of their cages to explore once in a while, so once they're comfortable being handled you might want to take them out to climb around on you or the floor or bed or whatever when they seem to be "climbing" the glass a lot. :)

I wouldn't leave too many crickets in there at once, they do like to "bug" the leos by crawling and nibbling and drowning in the water dish and such if they're not getting eaten.

I'll leave any "real" advice to the many more-experienced owners around here - It's a very pretty setup and some nice leos. :D

I'd agree on removing uneaten crickets since they may stress the geckos. I actually feed my geckos crickets in a separate tank. They know when they go in there that it's FEEDING TIME!!!
Nice setup! Looks good.
