I've had a leopard gecko for around a month now that I got from ++++++++. I went to +++++ and they had about 10 or so baby leo's in a tiny 3 layer rock hide, whereas ++++++++ had 3 in one tank. He's 6.5" long and the only place I see him is in his humid hide. It's placed between the middle and cool side if that matters. He's cut back on eating, he used to eat around 8 mealworms, and now he only eats about 4, so I figured he's just getting older. I've tried viewing him at different times of the day and I still don't see him out. I wake up around 6:45-7:00am, feed him around 8:30pm, which I have to take out the humid hide to do, and have stayed up until about 2am and still didn't see him. I used to have a yellowish day light bulb for a day/night cycle, but saw somewhere that they won't come out in bright light so I took that off this morning. He's right underneath a window, so there is still some light. UTH temps are 95.4 read with digital thermometer and controlled with a thermostat. Last time I checked, the warm side air temp, it was around 85F but I had my thermometer in my dubia colony to get those dam* things to breed already. Warm side now 85.5F, The cool side is 78*F

He has i guess you could say 6 hides as listed

-toilet paper tube
-coil uvb bulb box
-half tree trunk hide
-tupperware humid hide
zoomed CHE bulb box
-small egg crate laid against wall

I saw somewhere that leo's liked small places, and since there's enough eco earth inside the humid hide to only give him less than 2" to crawl into. That being said, should I get new, smaller hides? Also, "he" digs a little hole to lay in inside the moist hide. Do leo's lay eggs even with no male? When I bought it, I'd say it was only 4-4.5" so I don't know if it was housed with a male and could be a female holding sperm?

I have a paper towel substrate for now, possibly making that into hard packed dirt.

Uhhh... calcium w/o D3 inside, water dish, I have a PVC tube covered in lacrosse stick grip, a little boulder to crawl on, and one of those fake fern's that I believe exo terra makes over the entrance of the humid hide to feel more concealed. It has clear eyes, well it has a design on them, so they're not glass clear but you get the point. It walks with its stomach off the ground and eating every evening. Help me out here guys! Should I get a bunch more fake plants? I also saw that leo's love leaf litter. What about that?

Yeah I find mine in their humid hides more often than not. I'm not worried since they have other options and are choosing the one they prefer. It may be because my house is a bit dry while the heat is still on? Maybe I'll see a change once summer gets here? No idea but I let them handle their own comfort :)

The only thing I see is 95.4 is on the high side of the spectrum of heating. I usually set my thermostat to 92 or 93 to keep it in the middle for fluctuations. If your moist hide is towards the middle of the tank he may just be there for thermoregulation because that has the temp he likes.
