a few egg questions

My first breeding season is finaly underway. Ive had 2 leopard gecko clutches, and a beardie clutch so far. Ive had a few questions come up. My first gecko clutch (hypo*normal) her eggs seemed to come out just fine, she layed them, barried them to the bottom of her lay box, i took them out and incubated them. Next clutch was my beardie clutch, im pretty concerned about them, she jsut layed them maybe 5 days ago, when she laid them though they realy didnt have much form to them, the eggs were all stuck together and soft, alot of them were smashed in or bent in. They havent turned yellow yet or started to grow mold, but im worried becuase most of them have dents. she laid 17 total. Today I had my sunglow het raptor lay her eggs( bred to another sunglow het raptor) She had 1 egg burried the whole way at the bottom of the box, but didnt bother burrying the other, is this normal? the one that she barried is also dented:-/ but the one she didnt burry has nice shape to it.

Along with this, ive heard several different methods of incubation. Some people use vermiculite/perilite some use hatch rite, and ive also heard of people using echo earth. Is this just personal preference or is there logic behind some more than others?

Also, ive heard of some people using ventilation holes in their egg containers, and other not using them, these both acceptable?

currently I am using hatchrite without any holes in my containers, I hope my eggs turn out, all input is greatly appreciated

I use Albey's method, using one part perlite to .8 part water (sprayed evenly over the perlite) by weight. I use an air tight container and open it once a week for air exchange. I've used up one 2lb bag of Hatchrite since Oct. and it's ok, still decideding if I'm going to keep using it. I posted in your other thread about the Hatchrite.

I really can't give you any answers about the beardie eggs, as I don't have any. As for the slightly dented Sunglow egg, I would put a moist papertowl over the egg or burry it further into the Hatchrite till it plumps up. Good Luck

I have tried albeys method and have had no luck with it, not to say it doesnt wokr but i measured it out precisely and no luck. I used hatchrite too, and have need to place a hole in the container due to humidity build up on the lids. I have recently gopne back to vermiculite and love it.
And yes it is common to have a female lay one on the top of the medium and bury one, this could be do to many factors one being she might have been interupted, or infertile, or she is different...lol
