A few questions?

Hi all

I have 6 Leos and would like to breed some of them. I am pretty ok with the basics. I have Cresties breeding at present and have the incubation facilities to look after the eggs/hatchlings:)

So, the Leos i have are -
Males - 1 Raptor & 1 Patternless Albino

Females - 1 Aptor; 1 Reverse stripe & 2 Normals

They are all over 15 months old, all at 50grms or over, and all in good health.
I will obviously want to breed the Raptor x Aptor, but dont know if i should breed any of the others? If i put the Patty with the reverse stripe am i likely to get normals? Genetics confuses me :D

My plan with the Raptor/Aptor is to introduce the female to the male and leave her with him for a week. If i have seen signs of breeding (marks on neck etc) I would then remove her. Does this sound ok?

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

It's best to put the male in with the female, so she knows the area, etc.
If any of the other geckos are het for anything, it would show in the offspring through test breeding. If they aren't, you would get a lot of normals, yes :).

Thanks Clink:) They are all housed seperately so not a problem to add the male to her:D
Perhaps i'll try the Patty with the reverse stripe and see what surprises i get:D

One other question, and i dont know if it makes much difference, but is there a better time of day or night to introduce them?

Hi again

Well, i introduced the males to the females (seperate vivs of course:)), last Sunday evening. After a very small bit of nipping they have all been very very chilled. Both pairs have been eating very well (Mealies & locusts).

I still cannot see any signs of a mating, no marks on either female? Should i just leave them together as they are being well behaved?

I've put lay boxes in for them just to get used to them being in there.

Thanks
