Hi everyone. this is my first post here. I've been lurking for a while and am ready to start posting. I've had 2 female leos for about 6 years. I recently acquired a third female.

Her name is Nell. She was advertised as a super hypo. Her color is much darker than than what I'm used to seeing for super hypos. I'm guessing her darkness is due to incubation temperature? she has a small amount of carroting at he base of her tail. some very faint banding can be seen on her back. She has a bald head and a dark snout. The picture below of her against blue denim most accurately represents her colors.

What do you all think of her? Super hypo baldy? she isnt really tangerine at all.
I really like her brown hues. i just hope her darkness is genetic. I'll be getting a male soon to pair her with. What is your assessment of her morph and what morph of male would you pair her with if she was yours?

I would call her a superhypo tang baldy. I have found that with my SHT's and blizzards that they change color based on the temperature and environment. I have a (possible) snow blizzard that I got about 8 months ago that was a dark gold almost brown color. She's in a different tank now and she's lightened up to the point where she's a lemon yellow. My SHT also ranges from nearly brown to orange to gold depending on temps and mood.
In the past I've paired my SHT with albinos to get hybinos in the second generation and with Mack snows. I've had mixed results with the snow pairing. The best were lemon yellow to tang and the worst were an ugly gray/yellow. You may get the most interesting results with a hypo Mack snow.

SHTB. The color isn't a genetic trait. Put her in a nice warm enclosure and she will brighten up a bit. Unfortunatley the tangs don't get as bright as they once were after the brown out. I would pair it with a Blood Hypo or something from Albey.

You know what it is? I have one just like that.To me it looks like a tangerine tornado.the colour is a little deeper than the tangerine colour.

Thanks for the replies everyone! prettyinpink I thought the same about her weight when I acquired her. She was 43.6g when I last weighed her on the 7th. I'll be looking for a male this weekend at repticon. Either way Nell will be quarantined for another couple months as will the new male. That should give her enough time to fatten up.
