Figured I would put this up for anyone who is thinking about using a temporary divider in a tank. If you want a periminate one I recommend using plexiglass or something similar.
I have a 40 Gal breeder tank and my local petstores just sold dividers for standard, thinner, tanks. So I ended up buying two dividers for a 50 gal tank.
The divider that I bought just had the metal connector at the top that grabs onto your glass. So the bottom was not stable at all. I was able to fix this by putting slate tile over the bottom. I am pretty sure they are made with the assumption that you'll be using fish tank rocks. Since I am sure those little rocks would be bad news on geckos slate tile is a good sub. However, if you want to use just paper towels don't buy that divider unless you plan on glueing it down.
I had to cut every part to make it fit, however, having two sets ended up being a bonus because the side pieces work much better for top and bottom. The set I bought had very flimsy top and bottom pieces that were suppose to help keep the plastic from rolling up. They didn't work that well. The side pieces made great top and bottom additions and gave the tile something to latch onto.
Hopefully that made sense, if you have any questions let me know. The dividers I bought were the generic ones that they sell at petco type stores. I can post a picture later if anyone wants to see.
I would also ONLY recommend using this setup for two females. You don't want two males or mix gender geckos who might put extra effort into trying to get to the other side. They might be able to foil the divider. For two females who arn't to cocerned about the other or escape in general it works well.
