So i think a while back i posted about one of my geckos having mouthrot. He got it quite a while ago, i think april or may. And he still has it....I took him to the vet and they gave me some medicine. did what i needed, giving him the medicine etc...Well he ran out and wasnt any better. So ive been putting neosporin on it and it still doesnt seem to be going away. He is really thin and i just dont know what to do...any help here? Thanks,

Mouth rot (stomachitis) is a bacterial infection. Sometimes, the bacteria needs to be cultured in a lab to find out what antibiotic it is sensitive to. This can be a very difficult infection to treat.

In the meantime, you can swab the mouth out with a wet Q-tip dipped in hydrogen peroxide and then add a few drops of iodine. Gently swab out the mouth, especially near the gums, until it gets foamy. Using the other end of the Q-tip, get it really wet with water and rinse out the mouth. Do this 3X daily until you can get back to the vet.
