Acrylic Vs Glass

So I'm getting another tank for my BP (I know not a leopard gecko but it's a housing question.) I can get a 45 gallon acrylic tank shipped versus a glass tank. But the question is, with acrylic will the undertank heater be a problem?

Not sure about the heat but Ive heard they get scratches in them, you may want to check on that.
