Acting weird?

I got my leo George about three weeks ago. he has never wanted to be handled, and i did the whole hand-in-terrarium thing frequently lately to get him use to me. he finally crawled up my arm and we were hangin' out for a bit. he seemed to get a little jumpy, and i went to put him back in his tank and he hopped from my hand on the stand and crawled under the tank! (the tank is elevated like two inches by bricks) and i had to get him which scared him way more and i finally got him over the tank and he like jumped down in. his falls were not too too high but still kindof freaked me out. ever since he got out for the first time, he keeps trying to! i've never seen him get up on two legs and like scratch at the wall of the terrarium and he keeps doing it. also, he keeps climbing up the log i have in there all the way to the top, maybe trying to get out? anyway, he pooped a little further away than the spot he normally does and i was watching him and i didn't see ANY cricket or anything near his poop (i fed him after i held him then left the room after i saw him eat the majority) and he was staring at his poo and his tail wagged really fast like when he's about to eat something and he lunged in at his poo then just turned around and walked away and it doesn't look like any of his poop is missing in fact there's quite a lot compared to usual and i'm so confused!

I have had experience with geckos that got out once and seem determined to repeat the experience. Maybe he thought he saw something moving in the poo and went for it before he realized what it was. These all sound in the realm of normal leo behavior.

They're very tough little creatures. Just pick him up over something so there's not a dangerous place to jump to.
