how much do you think is enough. My gecko eats like 1 or 2 males dubias every other night. I'm feeding them half in nymphs. They ate one each. Would 5 each be a good number!?

Those animals should be full on one adult male dubia twice a week if you ask me. nymphs are tiny , I use them for 10 gram animals in numbers.

Really? I was scared to feed them an adult dubia because their body is almost as big as a male dubia and the nymphs actually stay in the dish since they seem to have really bad aim. I'm trying to help them out buy catching them in the dish.

it sounded to me like you wanted to feed them 6 adults a week ;) Alot of nymphs should do the trick.. 20-30 a week maybe?

:main_laugh: wow! That's a lot of roach! Not even my Leo can eat 6 adults a week. Well they only took 3 each because it seemed they were getting frustrated that they weren't catching them. Poor things, they just kept trying and trying and trying and missed over and over again, so I threw in some mealworms in a dish that they can munch on through out the night if need be.

Ugh I need to order some small supers because I dunno what happened but these little mealworms are starting to turn into pupae.

I wonder if their aim is off because they're not used to having to catch faster, bigger live prey?

Is that possible?

I would either keep trying the roach nymphs (little by little), or maybe let them fill up, get comfy, and gain some confidence in their new surroundings on mealies and supers, THEN try roaches?

I don't know what to suggest.
I don't have fatties.
I am just so happy that you have them and that they are eating for you!:D

Their aim is off even with the mealworms, especially the boy. He seems to get frustrated and walks away then comes back and tries some more and walks away. It's like he wants to eat but is having a hard time catching stuff, but he is eating, a little here and there but he's getting it. Luckily the half inch nymphs aren't big enough to climb out of the glass ash trays so they basically walk in circles, which seems to be helping a little and when they try to climb out they just fall on their backs making it easier for them to catch them. They were able to eat 3 each. The girl kept going at the roach and each time she got him she'd take off a leg, until she finally ate him, she also ate 9 meal worms the boy has only eaten to even though he keeps walking up to the dish.

I pray he gets a little stronger and his aim improves because the girl is having better luck, she's stuffing two mealworms at a time into her mouth and was able to take the roaches pretty fast.

I'm happy too :) I keep checking on them like every hour to make sure everything is ok. They seem very much in love. I have the cages next to each other on the dresser and the boys just stands there looking over at the girl but the girl doesn't seem to care much, lol. Last night while she was shedding he was stood there just staring at her. Got on top of the half log to get a better look. It was so funny.

I'm glad you decided to get them. I wish I would have had the room. I hope they start putting on weight for you.:)

Liz, when I saw your pm I was soooo nervous...

I am SO happy to see they are eating for you! I don't really have any suggestions... You seem to be doing an awesome job already!

I look forward to hearing updates about these two, especially Marley. :)

I'm glad to say that both of them took their first poopies yesterday. It wasn't much but it wasn't running which is a good sign in my book.

Some picture I've taken since Sunday! I've been trying not to bug them too much and luckily they're in my mothers room that doesn't get much traffic or movement since my mom just uses that room just to sleep in since she enjoys being in the kitchen or living room most of the time.

Marley,
