adult female losing weight

Hi there! I recently started a group of females and one particular girl, Rosemary, has been steadily losing weight in the 3 weeks I've owned her. She started off at around 54g and is now down to 46g. The setup is standard, the temps are 80-95 depending on where you look in the tank. She's acting like the rest of the leos are acting but doesn't seem to want to eat. She's active and bright and doesn't seem out of sorts, her weight is just on the decline. Do I force feed her? If so, how?

No, do not force feed her, that can cause even MORE stress.

You need to separate her from the other females. More than likely what is going on is that she is being bullied. Trust me, it doesn't always happen when you can see it. I had it going on when I used to house a couple females together, and I SWORE it wasn't. This is why I preach individual housing. It is at least worth a try.

I agree, I don't house any females together, just in case. She's the new girl in the tank and probably feels intimidated by the other geckos who have been established there longer. I suggest removing her and seeing if it helps.

Leos always take an adjustment period after they move to a new home, it's very stressful. That being said, moving into a new home with a bunch of other Leos can prove too stressful for some geckos. We kept a small group of females together once to see if they acted differently then being housed individually and they did. One of them ate more and bullied, the rest ate less and all of their colors dulled.

Bottom line, you're going to have to house her separately to either get her to start eating or find out why she's not eating if there is a health issue.

Wow, a lot of consensus here. I'll separate her into my spare set up and see if I can get her eating! :D Thanks!!
