Can you ever trust mealworms again? We all know the situation so my question is simple. Will you ever feed mealworms again? How will you know when they are safe and poison free? Even when they are believed to be back to normal can you ever trust that next time something like this happens we will be properly informed of whats going on so we don't continue to feed bad mealies unnecessarily for any amount of time? Do you have a time line as to when you will start back feeding mealworms?

Since many of the prey feeders are raised up on the same grain and food sources....why not question using others that may have received the same grain but we never heard about.
Also from information on crickets carrying pin worms,
I feel there are reasons they should be a concern as feeders too.
So where does the in advance worrying end? Maybe by starting our own gecko prey from scratch.....But to be safe maybe we need to raise the grain too..............................I'M NOT TRYING TO BE WISE, but

I guess this is the way I answer your questions about feeding meal worms. I won't change my diets, they do and will offer meal worms as always. But then I'm a hobbyist only feeding about 40 geckos at the present time. ............take care. HJ

I honestly think that this mealworms situation has raised awareness, not only by the keepers of the animals that eat them, but for the feeder companies as well. We most likely will not have this happen again, so I will feed mealworms when they become more abundantly available.

The mealworms gowers have lost literally millions of dollars in sales, had to lay off long-term employees, and suffered tremendous losses of business. It isn't something they will allow to happen again.
