So i got this little guy (gex) on February 1st. So it has been about a week and a half. I was just thinking When i got him he only had to be 1-2 months old, so how fast do leopards take to start growing and sprouting out? And many people tell me he is a htct what do you guys think? Also is it still to early to sex? Also I still can't pick him up he screeches so any pointers besides the obvious on gaining trust? Also he is starting to turn a red orange tint/shade on his tail this is know as carroting right?

Doesn't look like much carrot tail will be there. To be Carrot Tail it has to be at least 15% orange. Looks like it's probably a Hypo Tangerine, maybe Baldy. Looks too small to sex.
As for when they start growing and how fast they grow... that depends on genetics of parents and husbandry they get. Some of mine have reached 5 inches within 2 months of hatching but look skinny then start to fill out. Whereas others have filled out a little then grown longer slowly.

id have to agree, hyop tangerine. Wouldnt say carrot tail yet. Theres always a possibility that the back spots will fade and youll have a superhypo.

What is the diffrence between a carrot tail and just a baldy? Is it just ones tail is more orange than the other? I've noticed that his tail is starting to get a real good orange tint to it also.

You really cant compare the 2 terms. Baldy has to do with the head :p. When the gecko gets older, if the head has no spots then its a baldy. Of course carrot tail is the orange of the tail. You can have both terms on one gecko. A superhypocarroytailbaldy or SHTCTB.

this is a BEAUTIFUL leopard gecko brother! I hope mine comes out that way! But i don't know it might be a shtct or a shtctb because he or she is getting a really good orangish tint to its tail since i took this pic i can definetly tell a big difference. I guess in the end all I can do is HOPE!
