Wow that is awesome, I was wondering why I've never seen an albino beardie before. Considering every other reptile and their brother has a strain or two ;).

Awesome too bad none had made to adulthood yet! I hear about it for long time. The Breeders always told that they die before reach adulthood or 4 week but always there hope they will make it

I swear I saw those pictures a couple years ago. I wouldn't get too excited until after a few survive through adult-hood and manage to reproduce... and even then, Australia doesn't (to the best of my knowledge) allow native species to be exported so I doubt we'd see them here in the U.S. any time soon.

They are so cool!

I think they would have a hard time thriving being albino, due to their high UV requirements. It would be awesome to see an adult though!

LOL... Good call there!! I never thought about that. What a shame they're not thriving. I hadn't heard anything about that. I remember reading a few years ago about someone hatching albino beardies but it was mostly speculation, not seeing any pics. Seeing the pics threw me for a loop since I've never seen them before. All we can do is hope that some make it.

A couple of years ago in Australia there was some albino babies born and Many people saw the pictures including me but I can't remember the site but its still there. It is true that they didn't survive, lets hope these do but besides the red eyes I can see some color on some so maybe not all albino but Red eyed Beardies, time will tell. They are awesome lookingand I too would love to have one or two. And yes there are translucent beardies. That are awesome too. I have been breeding dragons for a few years now and I am really into snows, pastels and alot of bright colors. Maybe someday I will try for albinos and translucents but right now I am focusing on my Geckos right now. Deb

Like I said earlier up there, someone had produced a few clutches of them in Australia, posted pics, etc but claimed that a neighbor spraying for pesticides killed all of his dragons because he had kept them outdoors...

He produced these albinos at least 3 years ago, The only thing that stinks about this is that he lives in Australia and last I heard he couldn't ship out native animals from his country. This was on Daschu's website 3 years ago, this is the first place that I seen these pics.

Because of their high UV requirements, that's probably why they don't make it very long. I don't know if reducing the amount of UV will help any because then you'd probably wind up with BD that have MBD.

i do think they are neat looking but like geckofreak i just wonder because of the lack of melanin how much heat and uva uvb they can take on their eyes and skin.
