This was sold to me as a "Raptor - snake eyes". Well the eclipse is pretty obvious, but I think I have been naive to try to convince myself that he is indeed a Raptor. For the last 2 months, I have tried not to handle them much (due to standard quarantine), so I have been assuming that his eclipse eyes were red. But after handling him more this week for his first mating, I finally questioned those darker markings on his tail and have been staring at his eyes...

Please let me know if he is albino or not? here's pics, with close-zooms:

Yes, I think he is an albino because the markings are dark brown, not black. I hatched a Tremper this season that was pretty dark. Here's a picture of her (sold last month) at about 3 months old:

I agree with Aliza, I definitely think your gecko is an albino, in fact RAPTOR with snake eyes, based on her body/color markings. It looks a lot like my girl Envy who is 100% RAPTOR. envybody.jpg EnvySnakeEye.jpg

Also (sorry for all the pictures!) here is my Tremper Albino pos. het Eclipse male (his father was a snake eyed T. Albino and his dam was also T. Albino het Eclipse). You can see how brown his markings are. Perhaps the "Patternless" part of the RAPTOR acronym isn't so accurate for him, but I hope this eases your mind on the Albino aspect.

I am so glad that I was just being a paranoid beginner...only been at this for 5 months. It just started haunting my mind that he is the only one with darker tail markings....even his clutchmate brother (which I bought also) :) doesn't have such a dark tail.

To satisfy my curiosity, I started zooming in on his eyes. I just couldn't convince myself if the vein was actually red or dark-brownish...haha

WLG_KD, I have some good news for you. :) Assuming your Leo is NOT "eclipse/snake-eye," .......Your Leo is actually a Tremper albino HET eclipse (...not a "pos het eclipse"). :D He is GUARANTEED to have atleast 1 recessive eclipse gene because his father only has recessive genes to give. :D ....Too bad he missed the 50/50 chance of getting the 1 recessive gene from "het eclipse mama" or he would be an eclipse like daddy :)

Oh derp. I knew that! haha This is what I get for trying to talk genetics at 2am. He doesn't express any Eclipse traits, so he's definitely just het.

RAPTORS are funny because they can differ pretty greatly. I have a Mack Snow RAPTOR girl whose eyes LOOK black in most light but at certain angles you can see that they are just a very, very, very dark red. I'm glad your mind is at ease now! :)
