You know, I was wondering what the big deal was when I clicked the link, and up until the very end I wasn't THAT impressed.

But man, wait until you hear the last few imitations. It's incredible.

Lyre birds are one of my favorite avians. They are amazing.

Those birds are cool, but it was a bit sad to hear it imitate the sound of the chain saw.

The fact that they are imitating chainsaws - that are presumably cutting down parts of the forest (their habitat).

Its sad because its singing of its own demise... Lyre birds mimic as many sounds as they hear to create more intricate songs to attract mates... The fact that it only mimics sounds it hears... that means it had heard chainsaws... thus its singing of its own doom... it is really sad...

I have cut down well over 250,000 trees I bet and am a residential arborist, not a logger. Urban sprawl is a fact of life sadly.

An amazing bird, I have seen/heard them in the wild.

The kookaburra imitation was incredible. I hear allot of them as they are often seen in my neighborhood and its often a complicated call/cackle
