Who watches it or has seen some and what's your favorite series/movie/OVA/genre?

I started out back in 1999 with Dragonball, not on tv. They were crappy vhs bootlegs :main_laugh: in Japanese with subs. Ever since then I vowed to never watch dubbed anime. For example Dragonball. The dub version is horrible and all the original music is replaced. Anyways, my favorite series are:

-Mobile Suit Gundam (original from 1979)
-Z Gundam
-ZZ Gundam
-Blood +
-Yakitate Japan
-Cowboy Bebop
-Evangelion

I just started watching the different Macross series. If you like mecha this is almost as good as Gundam. I suggest starting with Macross Zero.

Anybody else a crazy otaku?

I knew you'd post in her George!

Wow that's a lot of DBZ games! You got any of the Super Famicom (Japanese SNES) games? They're the original DBZ fighting games.

If you don't mind it in Japanese with subtitles you can find all the episodes up to the current ones here. If there's episodes you can't find I can show somewhere really cool, but PMs only. You'll need a Bittorrent client to download from that site by the way.

I'm an otaku as well :D Well, was. I kinda got over it, seeing as I spent SO much money on it. I am into the drama/failed romance things.

Chobits was excellent manga, anime was crap
Mars excellent manga
Slayers I watched the anime, and love (first anime besides pokemon)
Pokemon (If i'm ever in need of simple amusement, I can always fall back on cute animals coming out of red balls to KO each other! :D )
Bleach manga is good
Gravitation manga (that's right, I said it!)

I have just kinda been going to Borders and free loading manga, ya know. Reading it in the store? lmao XD I watched the first dvd of Full Metal Panic and liked it, and my sister LOVES Full Metal Alchemist.

Done being a japan geek :B

I had read Gravitation too...for girl's comics, I like Fruit Basket.

My favourite manga and anime is One Piece; I used to like DBZ too, but the anime dragged too long.

I'm not that big into manga. I've got a lot of scanslated manga on my computer, but haven't read any yet. I really enjoyed the Hellsing anime and just watched the first OVA.

I am also trying my best to get Japanese as a third language but it's so hard to find a teacher and rosetta stone alone is not enough.

I LOVE anime!

Some of my favorite series/movies are:

Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champloo
Berserk
Vampire Hunter D
Revolutionary Girl Utena
Loveless
Bleach
RG Veda
X
Escaflowne
Code Geass

What got me hooked was Sailor Moon trading cards. There was one of those machines that you put quarters in and it dispenses goodies (in this case, Sailor Moon cards) outside a toy store that I would obsessively feed in order collect all the pretty girls. I was mesmerized by the artwork--big eyes, colorful hair, etc. I then discovered that there was an entire genre of this stuff! The artwork of CLAMP is some of my fav stuff. The characters in their RG Veda, especially Ashura, are so hauntingly beautiful.
