I've had my gecko about a month and a half and I know they don't eat for a while after being shipped but its been...a month and a half...shes eaten a little bit ive tried different insects mostly mealworms but ive tried superworms crickets and a few waxworms even to try to get her eating but she wouldnt touch the superworms...and has only eaten a few insects every few days shes gone to the bathroom a few times but not the right amount I think for the amount of time shes been here and the most worrisome thing is shes lost a considerable amount of weight. Shes not at any risk of starving to death and she was almost a morbidly obese looking gecko when she first got here but shes still a growing girl (7 months old) so at what point should I start being very concerned this is her when she first got here:

what are your temps?

Shes not really skinny, i dont know how much weight she has lost but it doesn't appear to be much and shes still in the healthy range and not skinny. Get a weight scale and monitor her weight weekly and what food she eats weekly. some of my geckos are still not eating as well from the winter brumation time so maybe that is the issue. Also try to leave her alone for a bit just make sure she has water and feed her on your feeding days, i know older geckos generally dont eat daily so maybe try feeding her every 2-3 days and ask the breeder what food it used and calcium and vitamins they used. I wish you luck shes a gorgeous gecko.

if you can try to get it up to like 93-94 if you can. have you asked the breeder what their setup was like? and what they were feeding and such? sometimes it just takes them a while to get in the swing of eating again try not to stress her out too much. maybe the light source is bugging her i know they say they can't see red but you never know really. let us all know how shes doing

We had one girl go 7 weeks before she ate after we bought her. I took her to the vet and she checked out fine. I monitered her weight weekly. She only lost 5 grams during her starvation diet. Try some supers or some roaches.....most seem to like these.

Have you upped your temps on the hot side? What are the temps on the cool side, and what are the temps on the hot side?

Like previously mentioned, keep track of the weight daily.

Make sure you are CONSTANTLY offering mealworms, superworms, crickets, butterworms, waxworms, roaches and silkworms whenever you can. Variety is the key.

temps are 91 on hot side 81 on cold side and the problem with getting a variety for her is that is I live in a dormroom atm so what I can feed her is limited(my roommate doesn't like things that she can hear/that isn't kept in a mini fridge so what I can offer on a daily basis as long as she doesn't eat the stuff right away is limited to mealworms) but I have tried offering her mealworms, superworms, crickets and a few waxworms and she didn't seem to have a special interest in any of those options (she ate a little at some points of each except the superworms which she didn't eat any of) she does eat a LITTLE but not as much as I would expect a gecko to eat...like 3-5 mealworms a week

(and I would have upped the temp to 94 already but one day I came home and the temp was at 95 so I brought it back down to 91ish because that made me nervous I dont want to acidently heat her to death :()

I think someone on a caresheet says it best. Your body temp is 98.6. Does she catch fire in your hands? 95 is PERFECT.

I would bump up temps again to 93ish or 94. A temp of 95 isn't going to hurt her. Some on here keep their temps at 97 or so. She will move to the cool side if she is too hot. A warmer temp just might stimulate her appetite.

thanks I agree :D lol...and she has such a personality I mean the way she acts is almost feminine (idk how to describe it but she doesn't lay down in a feminine manner as you can see from the first pic xD)...and is graceful it just makes it even worse since shes so awesome that she isn't eating like she should >: | I will turn up the temp as yahs suggested

If the temperature does not fix the problem then you could try a product called "beni-bac". It is benificial bacteria that helps regulate the amount of good and bad bacteria in the digestive system and it can be used for birds or reptiles. (usually is in bird isle)
She still looks very healthy tho.
Hope this helps.
