my mealworm dish has more than enough repcal calcium with Vit D3. do i need another dish with either plain calcium or calcium/vit d3? i think having another dish of calcium supplement in a leo enclosure is quite an overkill. i want your opinions, thanks. :)

Its better u leave a cap of pure calcium powder in the enclosure all the time, your leo will lick it as n when he/she feels needs it. As for calcium with D3, different people have their own opinion. As for me i'll say sprinkling it on the feeders once a week is sufficient enough

I was keeping a cup of calcium in there, but they all kept spilling it. Now I just keep an extra amount in the mealworm bowl. They can still lick the calcium in there.

The thinking on this has changed based on metabolic issues coming up in leopards due to oversupplementation, so no, do not leave a dish out. Geckos do not regulate themselves with this stuff. Use a good quality supplement, I can think of two, the all-in-one supplement Calcium Plus by Allen Repashy, what I use and recommend, or RepCal with D3 mixed with 50/50 Herptivite, also used and tested by me for many years.
