I am really concidering getting, say, 20 dubias. I wont feed any of the original 20, and will let them gow and eventually breed. I am just curiouse if anyone has gotten them from lllreptile? Im concidering getting 20 of te 1/2-3/4 inch ones, and am wondering how long it will take before I get babies. I know they need heat and all that.... and I will read lots about them, espeically breeding. I know trhey cant fly, dont make noise, have aminimal smell, and cant climb smooth surfaces, but if they manage to get out somehow would I have to worry about them living in the house for a while? I mean, my house isnt hot enough for them to breed in, but these things have long lives and my mom would freak, lol. Any help would be appreciated.

Blatta lateralis are good feeder but they are FAST. So if you got a slow or lazy gecko it takes a long time for them to get ahold of it.

If you only get 20 it will probably take several months before they mature and establish a colony. Id suggest buying 50-100 and a couple adult pairs to start off. Its a bit expensive but then you dont ever have to buy feeders again. They will live for awhile if they get out... probably until they die from dehydration/starvation. But theyre slow and if one got out you could catch it easily.

Determine how many feeders you use

What would be good is to define first how many insect feeders you use a week. When you do that then you can determine what a good starter amount is 10-20 probably isnt worthwhile if you want to breed them in sustainable amounts.

Turkistan roaches can be put in the refrigerator for several minutes to slow them down.
