I recently switched from holes in the side of a container to holes in the top (for a humid hide doorway). My geckos cant seem to get out! I am using "Glad interlocking lid containers- 6 cups" and beacuse of the height, I decided to put some mesh (not the super think kind, pt heavy dudty window mesh) on teh side. It makes it really wasy for them to climb up. I clamp the lid down on one end, and the other end folds under the container (filled 50% with damp paper towels). Do you think they will realize were the hole is? Its only been a day, so I'll give it time... Thanks.

+1. Geckos are very inquisitive and will soon find out where to come out from. A few years ago, I did the same thing to all of my hides and was worried as well. They got the hang of it within a few days.
