Another rescue--warning very skinny leo

I got a call about a month ago and someone was giving their leo away. I was told she was very skinny and would probably die--but what did i have to loose. I had no idea that when i showed up at the ladys house i would find this.

She told me "Delilah" was about 10 years old as she could figure, and her 8 year old son has had her for 2 and got her from this lady's brother. I was also told she was a little underweight, as the crickets kept escaping :main_rolleyes: . I walked into her son's room to find a barely alive gecko, no water filthy cage, no heat source and one very small hide. Clearly her skinniness was due to more than just "a few crickets escaping" well this is her after she has gained several grams, i have had her for about a month now and thanks to Marcia's amazing slurry and some TLC she has gained alot of weight and really perked up.

We still have a long way to go, but at least i do believe she will pull through.

Wow- that's after gaining weight? Poor thing must have been practically invisible when you first got her. :main_no: Good job on rescuing.

Wow! Thats one skinny gecko - I don't understand how people can let animals get in this kind of condition - Good for you for taking care of her! :) Hope she continues to do well for you!

That little girl is going to need a lot of work but these creatures are very resilient. With a little love and care im sure it will bounce back.

She is eating on her own, mealies and supplemented with calci, and also a few wax worms for fat content.

Once again thank you all for your support, she is so funny she actually likes to lay on her back and have her bully rubbed.lol.
