Ant season

Spring brings ants into our house. They don't bother with the leos cages because there isn't anything good in there. CGD & fruit however are quite enticing. I've seen a few ants in Ferrous' cage during the past week. I haven't seen him take any interest in them though.

I could spray the outside of the house. But then I'd be worried about toxic ants. They're only around for about a month if I remember correctly. What are your thoughts on this?

There is some kind of powder that people use to sprinkle around the outside of the cage. I will see if i can find what it was. The crested wont go after them but the ants will go after the crested.

Why not consider a stripe of tape on the outside of the tank? The ants would get stuck on the tape and not go inside.

I had something perplexing happen with ants
As many people do-I get them inside the house in the spring

I noticed that if I put a can of Coke down on the pegboard top of their tank-the can was quickly over run with ants-yeah-I made the mistake a couple of times of not checking before I drank out of the can-Ewwwwwwwww.....

But here's the strange part-the ants never found their way into the CGD in the 2 tanks of Cresteds that I have there

I was really glad of that
:main_yes:
I have also read of fruit fly problems with the CGD

Thanks for the baby powder idea. That sounds harmless. I have noticed 1 or 2 fruit flies since having Ferrous, but not problem counts.
