Ants

I found a couple ants in the tank, I killed them and scoured the rest of the tank for more and around the tank too, usually when I see a couple ants, I usually see more later, my question is, what is the best way to deal with ants safely?

Spray some spray vegetable oil around the outside top of the tank and then they shouldn't be able to get in.
