Well earlier this year my female blizzard weighed almost 70 grams. This was also her first year laying by the way. She layed 2 clutches of single infertile eggs and 2 clutches of fertile eggs. Through out all the laying she ate less and began loosing weight but after the 3rd clutch she started loosing a lot of weight and it made me worried. She stopped eating right before she layed the 3rd clutch. Since then she has been refusing all food, not opening her eyes all the way or too often, loosing lots of weight, and being very unactive. She is about at 40-45 grams right now. Parts of her face are also getting darker in spots, she was a bright blizzard but now she has darker spots all over her head.

I wanted to get a fecal for her done but she won't give me a sample. Won't eat when I rub worms on her mouth or even taste the slurry. She shakes her head really fast and slings it on me or wipes it off on my pants\ hand. What do you suggest I do? I really hate seeing her like this.
Thanks,
Denver H

Take her to the vet. CHeck on the forums for Marcia's slurry so you can get some food into her and hopefully get some poop out of her. From what you're saying, it makes sense to get her to the vet even without the fecal.

I went to the vet last night. She was low in d3 and calcium from all the egg laying and refusing to eat. She gave her a shot for calcium and she also gave her a preventative dose of pancur(sp) for parasites. Im taking a fecal in next week when she gives me one. The exotic vet I went to gave me this stuff called "carnivore care." It is like Marcia's slurry but some different ingredients. They told me to give her 3 ml of it a day. Has anyone ever heard of this stuff? I might use Marcia's slurry instead. Thanks alot.

It's great that you were able to take her and that there are some things you can do for her. I haven't heard of carnivore care.
