Anybody ever try to use these as hides?

A friend of mine uses the smaller ones in his hatchling tubs. The geckos like them but it's kind of hard to get them out of there if you need to weigh them or see them for any reason. They can get in and out on their own just fine though

most hides for fish can double for leos I find... it's just you wanting to get them out versus them getting out on their own is where the difficulty lies...

Yea, getting the gecko out, and crickets would be a problem. Darn...I really liked them too. :(
Good points btw. :)

Those are really light weight too.. so if you get poop on them, you gotta be pretty careful cleaning them. Did you check out Vision's Website, they have some plastic hides/bowls that I use with my leo's they are simple and easy to clean

I've seen those in the pet stores. They can totes work, so if you like 'em, get 'em!

How do you get them out? Thats really my only issue if I was going to use these.

It's not a gigantic issue. Honestly, I normally haul them out by the tail. It's been working for me for ages. If they stubbornly insist on staying in the hide, I just move on to the next hatchling and wait for them to wander out on their own, as they always do.

If you check out the hermit crab sections of your local pet stores... they have some cool hides.
I use these igloo for my snakes and leo, cause they come in many sizes... you can find them online for dirt cheap! ($1-2.00) if you just search for "small animal igloo" or "igloo hide" it is not hard to find!

tiny holes in roof to help with airflow..

I also have one of these for a leo:

I have something kind of like that and my Leo loves it, but it does make it hard to see her. That one is better than what I have, mine has a curve in it which makes it that much more difficult to see her.
