I walked into our kitchen this morning, and either I am REALLY unobservant, or this Christmas Cactus bloomed super fast...but it's gorgeous!

Here are some other indoor plants and rock gardens in our house. My mother in law moved in with us awhile back, and brought her green thumb with her. She built a couple rock gardens, one in her room, and one in our kitchen where she grows tons of herbs, a few aloe vera plants, etc. They are supposed to be good luck :)

This last one is my mother in law posing with her rock garden in her room. I think she's adorable, even though the picture is a bit blurry!

Does anyone else on here have an array of house plants? I think they are gorgeous and would love to see other's :)

I have 2 bakers shelf units in my bay windows with plants including hibiscus, geraniums and pothos. Most of these plants are outside in the summer. I also have an indoor outdoor fish pond with taro, papyrus and arum (and fish). It doesn't look nearly as gorgeous as your mother in law's garden, but with 7 rooms in a 2 family in New England, it's the best I can do.

Those are beautiful!!! my grandmother keeps the one in the first picture. She has a room dedicated to plants. She goes in everyday to water them and stuff and sits there talking to them. She has around 35 plants, and in another room since they live in a building they grow small peppers, potatos and different herbs that they cook with in one of those narrow and long flower pots. It sits on the window sill.

We used to have a few plants in my house but many were given away due to the fact that they were toxic to either cats or dogs and we didn't want to take a chance. but my mom has like 3 hanging plants in the living room that if let down touch the floor and some Aloe Vera plants on the window.

I personally don't have a green thumb. i bought a baby plant once and put in on the window sill. But i forgot to close the window completely. Well that night we had a snow storm and I woke up to a limp, black and frozen plant. i tried every hard to keep in going with a heat lamp and some straws but it didn't work :(

I would like to get into them but I need something easy to start with..

lovely set ups though!

Wow! Heather, those indoor rock gardens your Mother-in-Law created are gorgeous! What a great idea! Your Christmas Cacti are huge! Mine are blooming right now, also, quite suddenly. They are teeny compared to yours, though. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the cats keep getting into them and grazing on them and breaking pieces off left and right....:main_rolleyes: I finally stuck the Christmas Cacti in the window in the master bathroom so they couldn't get to them anymore. I have resorted to regular Cacti in the rest of the house. So far, the trouble makers (kitties) have avoided them. ;) Hmmmm. Imagine that! :main_rolleyes::D

Lol thanks Mari! It's not the cat we have issues with in this house...it's the dogs. For some reason they like to steal the rocks and little knick knacks...we'll hear them struggling to carry a 15 lb rock around the house lol. Or the clink of little glass figurines. Brats!

:main_laugh: The Rottie that we used to have was convinced that she needed to carry around riciculously heavy things, also! :main_rolleyes: Thankfully our Danes stay out of most things.....since they're counter-height and could help themselves to whatever they want! I can't imagine the dogs dragging around the 15 pound rocks is good for your flooring!

Lol...must be a Rottie thing!

I am pretty positive it has to do with the fact that our female is pregnant, so in the "nesting" mood. She takes the rocks in her crate, and cuddles them, and cleans them. Thank gosh we have marble flooring, so scratching isn't too bad!
