Seems to me like Mulberry Farms knows something about them lol. I'm just giving you a hard time... I have seen a few people on this forum say that they have fed them. If I remember correctly, people have just said they are very expensive (and taking a second look at the price backs that up).

I don't see $5.99 being very expensive...

You know, for maggots, they are not cheap. I always bought them from fish bait suppliers, very cheap.
Thanks

It's not that anyone is gonna go broke on $6, but compared to other feeders... and having multiple geckos, that will add up. You are getting 100 phoenix worms there for $6 when you can get a cup of 100 mealies for $0.95/cup from Grubco. And I don't even know if Grubco is the cheapest...

Even with 1 leo. Say they eat 100 worms/week. Mealies (without shipping) would be $49.40/year. These Phoenix worms would be (without shipping) $311.48/year.

People are willing to pay thousands for a leo but not hundreds for food?? That's stupid :main_rolleyes:

Only kidding :D

I can barely get Fleck to eat 15 worms a week let alone 100 lol

I meant not expensive if you only buy them occasionally. Not a breeder buying them; or buying them as the main diet staple

A friend of mine fed a group of his leos just these worms and a group just crickets and the cricket group grew much faster and stronger. But that's just one unmoderated study. My little aussies liked them the one time i bought them.. but they don't eat anything after you buy them so I'd guess they'd loose nutritional value over time.

last year I used them for hatchlings. They did well on them but I'm expecting a lot more hatchlings this year and meal worms are easy to breed and are cheeper.

Most of all of my geckos turn their noses up to Phoenix worms...I think it is because of the packing material in the cups...kind of reminds me of tobacco..

I've tried them. They do have a wierd aroma to them. I wasn't too impressed with them though. But, I would try them again. I like to give things more than one chance. My guys ate them, what didn't die anyway.

My leo didn't even look at the Phoenix Worms. I wasn't too impressed either. I bought the largest possible size at the reptile store and they weren't even a half an inch long.
