Anyone know what type of Leo mine is?

I know I love him/her still don't know how to sex them either... =/.... He/she was an impulse buy!!! I've wanted a Leo for awhile saw it and bought it for $15!!! What a deal!

I'd guess a enigma or an incomplete Stripe, on a normal coloration. (I also posted on your Intro thread....) And I'd guess a female... but its really too early to tell. Males develop a pair of bulges under the tail, next to the vent. You really can't tell until about 4 months or so.

Yes thanks!!! I did read up a bit on how to sex them but I figured she/he was to young. I looked under and there was no V pores and no bulges. Can you tell what it is just by a overhead view?

Wait till it gets older then you can tell. Also it's normal also normal go around that price but nice

Definately, I have three girls and one that I'm pretty sure will be a male. But all the babies will be normal coloration, but carry the blizzard gene as a recessive trait. Unless yours carries the gene too, then about half the babies will be blizzards.

From looking at it I'd say maybe 2 months, but it's hard to say with just a picture. If you weigh(in grams) and measure(in inches) the little guy, I could probably give you a closer estimate with comparing it to my babies.

I could be wrong but I thought most leos were captive bred since they are relatively easy to breed.

Yes agree they are primarily captive breed because like they have said they are easy to breed.

Nowadays wild-caught leo's are actually pretty expensive and hard to get. There are several named subspecies (and actually more than one species in the genus). In Europe they are starting to breed some of these distinct subspecies more or less "pure" (not mixed with other leopards from other localities), and they are fairly expensive compared to our "mixed bag" leos here in the U.S. A few U.S. breeders are doing the same.

Here are the subspecies of leopard geckos so far recognized:

Eublepharis macularius macularius
Eublepharis macularius afghanicus
Eublepharis macularius fasciolatus
E. m. montanus
E. m. smithi

When leo's started being imported to the U.S. the dealers did not recognize the different subspecies, so they mixed individuals from all different locales.....and so the vast majority of our leopard geckos in the trade today are a "melting pot" of different subspecies. Remember, I'm talking about real, natural "races" here, not all the various genetic "forms" we've "created" over the years (like blizzards, ghosts, pineapple upside-down cake....okay I made that last one up....but you get my meaning...).

and that's not even considering the other species in the genus Eublepharis, but that is a post for another time....
