I have read a lot of posts about problaems breeding superworms and I wanted to help people out. I am currently breeding and selling thousands and thousands of superworms, and I am willing to take pictures of my set up and help anyone who needs it. Just pm me for help.

Thanks,
Brandon

I would love to see it! Check out my post, its called superworm project. I have documented my process over the past month (My first attempt at breeding them). It would be great to have a resource to ask questions.

How do you keep your pupating supers? I keep mine in a bead box, at about 78F and I just had a pupa die. These things are tough. My mealworm colony is taking off and I'm not doing anything lol.

I keep them in the same thing they pupated in( plastic dixie cups) in a plastic tub with a heat pad underneath and i towel over the top to keep the heat in. Anything else you need to know,I can tell you.

here you go guys:)

STEP 1
I have a three drawer Rubbermaid that i use for breeding them. I use one of these drawers to pupate the worms. First I select the biggest worms I can find, they should be at least two inches long. Then, I put them in plastic bathroom cups and put them in the drawer. The drawer is heated to a constant 80 degrees F with a human heating pad, which I keep set to medium. If you keep them at this temperature you should have pupae within a week. Also, do not give them anything in the cup, like no bran or moisture.

STEP 2
Once you have your first pupae, you need to setup the container to incubate them in. I use a 28 quart Rubbermaid tub, with a human heating pad underneath and a towel over the top to keep the heat in. Set the heating pad to either low or medium, check the temperature with a temp gun. It should also be at around 80 degrees F.

STEP 3
After about a week to a week and a half, depending on your temperatures, the pupae legs will turn a dark reddish brownish color, which means that within a couple days, a beetle will emerge. The beetle will be white and very soft so be careful not to smash or injure it. After the beetle emerges give it about a day in the cup to harden up.

STEP 4
Once the beetle has hardened up for a day, you will need to set up your breeding tub. I use 8 quart tubs for about 100-200 beetles. Make sure the tub has been cleaned out very well. Add about an inch of wheat bran to the bottom of the tub. Then add a piece of egg carton,(this is very important) and sometimes two is even better. For moisture for my beetles, I use a bowl like you would use to put mealworms in for your geckos. In the bowl I put water crystals, which I make myself because it is cheaper. To get those you can either pick them up at a show, or get them from somewhere like The Bean Farm or Pro Geckos. Now just add the beetles as they come. You will want to start with about 50 beetles or so, so set aside about 60 worms. I keep them on a heat pad as well at the same temperature.

STEP 5
Now just wait. Leave the beetles alone except when you have to do something in there. After about two to three weeks take the beetles out and switch them to a fresh tub and put the tub with all the eggs in it, on the heat pad too. Give them a piece of apple on the top, because even though you can't see them for the first couple weeks THEY ARE THERE! Do not throw it out because you do not see any movement, because they are just too small to see. After a few week you will see hundreds of baby super worms in the wheat bran. The babies will take about 2-3 months to grow up. Now you are done!:D

This is just the way I do this so don't say it is wrong, thanks.:)
