Anywhere To Look After Them?

Well, I'm getting my first leopard gecko tomorrow, and I'm trying to think ahead as far as I can to be prepared for anything that might come up.

Every year, my family goes to the beach for 1 week.

We put our dog in the pound, and I was wondering if there was something similar for leopard geckos to keep them alive and well during my time away?

Obviously I'm not asking for specific names of facilities, just if such a thing exists, and if they are common.

Another thing I could do is bring it along, but it's a 2 1/2 - 3 hour car trip, and I don't know if that would be a comfortable environment for a gecko.
What do you think on that?

I could easily look after it on my vacation, I'm just worried that maybe it won't be used to the car environment, and even less used to the environment in the condo, and he might even be confused again when he's back at home.

If it were me, I would find someone to stop by every few days to feed and top the water dish off. The stress it would go through in the traveling wouldn't be worth it.

Ahh, that's a good idea.

Thanks, guys.

But, still out of pure curiosity, is there such a place?

If there is a Mom and Pop reptile shop near you that you trust, they will often care for your gecko for a fee if you ask. Just be sure you like the way they care for the animals in the store before you even think of asking.

Ahh.

Well, as far as I know, there is not, but that's nice to know.
Thanks
