So I bought some Dubia Roaches from The Roach Guy (definitely want to recommend him, everything arrived timely and didn't have any dead roaches) and I really wasn't sure if my Leo, Tiffany, would even eat them because as I've said before, she's lazy and picky.
I had just fed her the day before I got them but I threw one in anyway. She instantly had to go check it out, but wasn't hungry enough to try it. So I waited a few days and she ate one (only one.. dont know why but oh well). Its been a few days since then, and I've tried feeding her mealworms/supers since then because the roach wasn't huge and I figured she would still be hungry considering she can eat a lot of giant mealworms at a time (8-10). She wouldnt touch them. Tonight, she was out, on top of her cave looking around for about 30 minutes or so, so I stuck a super in there and she got off and ran toward it hungrily, but didn't eat it. I took it out and got a roach, and she was entranced. She slowly krept up to it and *bam*. Again she only ate one, but man she's focused. I've never seen her get like that with other feeders, especially ones that move, cause she refuses to chase crickets.
Anyway, she apparently likes the Dubia. Thought I'd share lol.
Oh and by the way, for roaches, they're pretty smart. They FREEZE when she approaches or when I try to get them with tongs (they suction to the surface of whatever they are on, making them hard to grab). One refused to move for at least a few minutes even after I picked it up and put it in a jar. It just layed on its back, every now and then moving a leg. It got up and ran after I put it back with the others.
Sorry for writing a novel! lol.
