I want to be seasonal at a campground and their pet policy is no exotic pets. I didnt think leopard gecko's were considered exotic but my mom and wife and mother inlaw said they were... so now i turn to the reptile people to see what they say?

I would say no. Exotics are animals that are not kept as pets and considered wild . Any thing you can find a chain pet store like geckos is not exotic.

It depends on what the campground people mean by that. They may mean anything that's not a cat or a dog. I'd recommend asking them and emphasizing that this gecko is always caged. Note that most reptile vets are called "exotic vets" (referring not to the vet but to the animals s/he treats).

I guess you'd have to ask them if they care what goes into the aquarium. They may be trying to exclude stuff like ferrets and monkeys (!) as opposed to permanently caged animals.

Under many of the laws, reptiles are considered exotic. It is different state to state. It's one of the things that was fought here in IL. They wanted reptiles to be removed from exotic laws and put into their own category.
