hi on friday the 13th my female gecko had her eggs ,we placed them in incubation and one started to dent so we left for a few days . Today we noticed the dentin was on both sides and the other one has a tiny dent in with a tiny bit of mould on it...... so the cocanut fibre and moss that they were sittin on we replaced and made it a bit dryer as we were told it was to damp also there is two slits in the lid now ... the incubator is polystirein box with aqerium heater water and the nestin box sittin just above water level.. if any one could give me some advise would be most gratfull thanks:)

i'd disrupt them less and I'd also put the moldy egg in another container as to not contaminate the other.

I'd also invest ina hovabator... because home made incubators tend to have LESS of a hatch rate than just buying one...and for 37.00 you cant really complain.

Hatching eggs

Just my way, suggestions.
Use perlite in the hatch boxes. No holes in lid
Gives humidity around the egg, not sitting in water as some materials.
Albey Method : Weight of water .8 X perlite weight.
No guess work. It works well.
Females will hatch great (100% here 2008) without an incubator.
Also Albey's method for females. Males get Incubator.
$12 elect. heater with heat control in a small area with testing of
temp. to remain 78 to 84 works great for me.
(I use a Shelf in a Shower room, with thermometer)
I'm sold on the method. Used to get less hatchings, half formed,
dented, and thought to be non fertile.....got none of these in 2008.
Take care. HJ
