Are the beetles M/F

so when the worms eventually turn to beetles do the beetles have sexes? Like do you need a male and female to breed or can you just pick 2 beetles at random and they will just breed?

I think I heard once that they female beetles are larger than the males. I have around 500 beetles right now and I noticed the when they are mating the female is always on the bottom and is slightly larger than the male on top.
