Any one have experience with the water gel stuff?

From what I've read, no.

Water crystals are used widley as a moisture source for feeders.

Water crystals are the best source of water for your feeders (other than natural moisture in fruits and vegetables). They do not stink or mold like a sponge or water pillow will, and will not allow little ones to drown. I know people that offer no water to their crickets as well, they get all the moisture they need from the vegetables and fruit left with them at all times.

Thanks, I have been using veggies/potatoes for a while now and saw the crystals in bulk. I was curious if the crickets digested the material or sucked on it for water... almost gut loading like with plastic...
