Tonight is to be Loki's and Dante's med night for the Panacur.... how the hell do you force open their mouths to give it to them. Loki is fighting me tooth and nail, but she needs it.

Hold the gecko in one hand so your palm is wrapped around the gecko and your first and second fingers are holding its head (alternatively, I guess you could either wrap the gecko in a towel, or get someone else to hold it). It's easiest to give the medication if you have one of those hollow needles that fits onto the syringe. In any case, gently push the syringe into the side of its mouth near the corner. If you have a good enough hold on it, it won't be able to struggle enough to dislodge the syringe. Shoot the medication in and hope for the best.

Good luck,

Aliza

It works nicely to hold the gecko in a paper towel as well incase they poop on you or go to bite you, they get the paper towel instead.

Yeah, I've been wrapping them up in a wash cloth and been trying to get it in by the corner of the mouth like I watched the vet do. I'm just worried I might do it to hard and injure them. :( and go figure, hubby isn't home.

I have a little trick maybe you want to try? Have 2 syringes on hand, one with plain water and one with the medicine. Just put a tiny drop of water on their lips, when they started lapping the water, quickly change to the syringe with medicine and they'll usually take it "un-noticed" (which is just one drop). :)
