They can bite the face. I'm not saying they will eat out the stomach (that's the myth your referring to) but super worms can bite and bites can lead to infection. Most Leo's will go for the head but some will grab mid to lower region giving the super ability to bite/scratch eyes, mouth, and face. You just need to watch. I tong feed, grab by the lower section and let the head/upper half squirm for your Leo. I just usually pinch the head to stun them.

That makes ME squirm and cringe just thinking about doing that lol. I still won't touch the mealies or crickets with my fingers lol. My friend would play with my dubia's when she came over.

I didn't read more than the first line but here's my contribution : My first gecko was 37g and supposed to be 2years old... I fed up mostly with mealworms and she went to 43g, that was just before winter/hibernation. Now she's 45g but that might be cause of eggs; though it should go up as she's eating a lot now.

I have dusted every single insect that Ozy eats for almost a year with Repashy Calcium Plus and she is fat, healthy, active and strong. Allen Repashy is VERY good at what he does. So if he says to dust every feeding with it, then I'm dusting every feeding with it. I also use Bug Burger in powdered form and occasionally I cook it, that's what my feeders get.

Hey everyone!

Thanks so much for the help. I thought I'd post with a bit of an update for those curious. I've been feeding her dusted giant mealworms. She overate once and ended up tossing a couple of them back up, but it was an isolated event and she's been much better about it since. I've already seen some weight being added to her tail, and she's getting much more used to being handled. She shed successfully and ate all of that too. Things are looking good!
