Avoiding warm hide

I only see Presley in his warm hide for a little bit after he eats. After that...always laying on the tile in front of it or in his cool hide. I have the temp probe inside his warm hide (on top of the tile so its measuring the floor temp). It stays in the 95 range (between .1 and .6). I have the UTH plugged into a rheostat and the rheostat in on low already. Maybe 95 is too hot for him personally? I've layed my hand on the tile and its not burning hot. As I've said, the rheostat is on low, I cant get it any cooler in there (unless I completely dont know how a rheostat works and there is a way lol). Does anyone have a recommendation for a good rheostat? I have a zoo med one. Just checked right now and his warm hide temp is 95 exactly. I'm confused as I've never had a leo that avoided their warm hide before. Just my luck getting the odd ball leo :main_rolleyes:

Thanks

Oh...and no it's not dirty or smelly in there :p

I recommend you get rid of the rheostat and get a thermostat.
Set if for 92, and forget about it.

Uhhh... WOW!! I totally didnt even think about a thermostat...ugh I wish I had a brain...

Thanks!! LOL

Oh...wait, that reminds me. The reason I was asking if its too hot for him personally is because I've kept all my leos at 95 without any problems. So I was just curious if maybe that was too warm for him. Not like Im gonna know so its a moot point anyway lol

It the winter, I set mine for 94 because the air temp drops
really low at night when it gets very cold outside.
Normally, it's 92.
I guess 95 is okay as long as they have a cooler place to go
in case they dont like it.

P.S. rheostat only work if your room temp NEVER fluctuates.
