Been researching like a mad man the last couple months on everything breeding. BTW becareful with wording when searching for breeding on google...hint hint make sure you specify leopard geckos, if you know what I mean. Anyways, my female gecko is beginning to dig in lay box as of an hour ago, but exited lay box after i removed heat pad from under other end of tank for homemade incubator. 1 is this a sign I should be expecting eggs soon? If so any guesses on how soon? and 2 is there any consequences for me interrupting her?

Thanks -Simply Geckos

Ha! I've done that! You get in such a focused state of mind that you type something in google without specifying its about leopard geckos (which google should know anyways!) and you come up with some pretty crazy stuff...

Digging in the lay box usually is a sign a gecko is about to lay. I don't think you did any permanent damage by taking the heat pad, as long as temps in the tank stay in the appropriate range. As for when she lays, that's difficult to say. Try turning her over to see if you can see any eggs or gently picking up her tail at the fatty part so you can see her belly (make sure her front legs stay on the ground). Sometimes you can't see the eggs even when she's right about to lay, but you may see them. If they are about an inch long and elliptical shaped than she is probably very close to laying. Good luck!

Thanks for everyones help :) I would say she mated some time around the 5th through the 7th...I have looked and can see the eggs in there atleast what i think is them. She layed two around the first, but I wasn't even aware she was prego...Not letting that happen again. Needless to say they didnt make it. @Duster I know lol crazy internet
