So has anyone tried feeding strained baby food to their leos?
I dont mean when they are sick, hatchlings, etc., just giving
it to them for something different??!! :)
A treat, or a little snack.

I have seen old care sheets that mention it, I have never tried it.

So, if yes, what flavor, and how did your leo like it? :D

I once gave a little to one of my leos since it was left on the spoon from feeding my day gecko. He took a few licks, but didn't go wild over it. My beardie, on the other hand, not surprisingly, loves it, but she doesn't have the habit of licking and tries to chew up the spoon.

i offered chicken flavor to the babies at work... they didn't seem too interested. but then again, unless it's a waxworm it might as well be poop as far as they're concerned... XD

Hmmmm, do you think thats because it's not alive and kicking??

I was thinking that too when I read about it.
Have you seen the care sheets on the net recommending it?

I cant remember where I saw it, but it is also mentioned in a book
I had. I tossed the book (loads of bad advise) but I remember the baby
food.

it could be.. leos don't really have an interest in stuff that doesn't move. i haven't seen any care guides for leos that recommend it.

i personally have never heard of giving baby food to leos but I've seen it being recommended to crested geckos.

we give it to guinea pigs at work sometimes but im not sure about leos. My little girl wont eat a cricket if it doesn't move the right way I doubt she would eat baby food, lol

I have also seen it in care guides somewhere.. Just can't remember where.
My old manager used to give a fresh fruit mix to our leo's at work. I've seen them lick at it a few times.. but.. it was probably more of a "What.. is this?" lick. lol.

FYI: The mix was... Prickly Pear, Banana, Strawberry and cucumber allll mushed up to baby food consistency. Smelled really good. :x lol.

I would be very careful about baby food. A LOT of baby food contains onion powder, and onion is poisonous to a LOT of different types of animals. I dont know if geckos are one of them, but if they are I bet it wouldn't take much to cause a problem. Just my opinion.
