baby gecko question.

Hi,

I just picked up another leo this time its a baby and I got it for my sons birthday. Anyhow my question is, why do baby leos make a hissing sound? and is it just the babys that does it or does adults do it to? and is it normal for them to make a hissing sound? I picked my baby up and he began making a hissing sound so I put him down lol it kind of freaked me out. anyhow thanks in advance........Shaun

It's a baby defense mechanism. They eventually outgrow it, but, as you can see, it works.

Its there way of sayin leave me alone. It doesn't work with me. I still spray the humid hides , clean their cage ect and let them hiss away. I also stroke under there chin when I finish and put the lid back on.

oh I see, well I am gonna do my routine cleaning like you do lol forget it if the cage needs cleaned then im gonna do it and the hissing aint gonna bug me lol anyhow thanks.......Shaun
